Ministers & Pastors
Pastor David has been married to Joyce for 32 years. They have three adult children, and a sophomore in High School. David graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1979, Texas Lutheran College in 1983 with a B.A. in Theology, and from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1987 with a M.Div. He has served in two previous churches in Texas, and has been at Holy Ghost since 2001. He loves Jesus deeply, and loves people and his greatest hope is to help people get acquainted with Jesus. Hobbies include hunting, motorcycle riding, reading good books, and spending time with his family and friends.
Pastor Bobby Vitek wants the church to fly—for it to be the best it can be for the glory of God! He believes that if church is boring, it is a sin! Thus creative ways to express faith is always a part of the plan! He has been a Lutheran pastor for 28 years and has served Holy Ghost Church and the Fredericksburg community for the past 19 of those.
Pastor Bobby is married to Tammy who is a 4th grade teacher at Fredericksburg Elementary School. They have two adult children who are both married: Katy Kornegay, married to Geoff; and Andy Vitek, married to Alex. Both sets of children are highly involved faith leaders in their respective churches.
This Reverend enjoys raising quail in the backyard and pickling their eggs. He makes homemade wine, jellies, and does most of the home cooking. Spring turkey hunting for him is not a passion, but an obsession! He roots for Aggies, Cowboys, and Spurs! His current favorite Bible verse is, “I came that you may have life and have it abundantly!” (Jesus in John 10:10b)
Pastor of Youth and Family
Clint loves the ministry and loves serving the Lord at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church! He’s a sixth generation Texan with roots in Mason County where his family first settled in the 1800s. Clint is married to his High School (class of 1990) sweetheart, Anne, who practices medicine in Fredericksburg as an Ophthalmologist. Clint and Anne have three kids- Jake, Molly, and Clara- and have fun juggling the busy schedule of a family of five. Clint’s favorite hobbies are flying his drone, hunting turkeys in the Spring, watching High School sports, making highlight videos for FHS teams, playing guitar and going to the movies. Clint graduated from the University of Texas in 1993 with a B.A. in Psychology.
Following his undergraduate work, he attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1998. Prior to coming to Holy Ghost, he served Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX, for six years as an associate pastor specializing in youth and family ministry. He has served Holy Ghost full-time since February of 2005, and then beginning in January of 2016, he began a shared ministry partnership with our sister congregation, St Paul Lutheran Church of Cave Creek, working as their part-time pastor while also continuing to do youth ministry at Holy Ghost part-time. Clint is thankful for this partnership in the Gospel and considers it a great joy to be a part of a family of faith where “being and making disciples” is the name of the game!
Pastor of Life Care Ministry
I was born in Abilene, Texas in a farming family. The youngest of three, my world revolved around school sports, church and farm chores. I graduated with a bachelors and a masters from Hardin Simmons university and the entered into a years residency for hospital chaplaincy.
During these years I served as a youth minister, pastor, and interim pastor. I married and had my first child while in training. The next few years saw me begin my hospital ministry, complete requirements in pastoral counseling, and start my doctoral work.
We moved to the Hill country and I worked in San Antonio. We live on a farm in Comfort and our four children are grown. There are three grandchildren and one in the way. After spending thirty-four years in various hospital positions, I have recently returned to Fredericksburg to follow my lifelong vocation to bring comfort and healing to the broken-hearted.
Minister of Children and Young Families
Daniel Hofmann has been at Holy Ghost since January 2014 and he can’t believe how blessed he is to live and work among such a wonderful Body of Christ! He came to Fredericksburg from Longview, TX, where he served for four years as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at First Lutheran Church. Here at Holy Ghost, he is our Minister of Children and Young Families, so he gets to spend his time getting to know the younger crowd at church- which works out, since he’s nothing but a 6-foot-4 kiddo himself!
Daniel graduated from Texas Lutheran University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, with a specialization in Youth Ministry. He spent his college summers working at Cross Trails Ministry in Kerrville, where he served as a camp counselor, day camp director, and program intern. Camp is where Daniel felt God guide him to his calling of working with kids, and it’s his favorite place in the world. If you ever get the chance to go, he’d love to share it with you!
Daniel’s parents are Paul and Barbara Hofmann, who currently reside in Bellaire, TX, where Paul serves as City Manager. Both of them are very involved in their congregation at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Daniel also has two younger brothers: Michael, a seminary student who lives in St. Louis, MO with his wife Stacy, and Timothy, a 2015 graduate of Texas A&M who lives and works in Kerrville.
Daniel shares his home across from the church with his Shiba-Inu pup Remus, who has become the unofficial watchdog of San Antonio Street.

Donna was born and raised in California. She graduated from High School in Covina, California in 1967. A few months later she enlisted in the USAF and was off to San Antonio for basic training. Her next duty assignment was Stewart AFB, Newburgh, New York where she was trained as an Air Operation Specialist. She worked on the flight line coordinating flight information with the control tower and various other agencies. At Stewart is where she met Don, her husband of 49 years. A few months after they met Don was sent to Viet Nam. Donna was reassigned to Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines. Eventually they were married at the base chapel in the Philippines and spent another year there. When Donna’s commitment to the USAF was completed she became an Air Force wife. Don made a career of it. They moved 14 times in the 20 years that he served. Don and Donna have two sons, Dale and Daniel, and a daughter, Dianne (Annie). They also have two daughters-in- law, Melissa and Megan and a son-in law, Andy. The “kids” have blessed them with 11 grandchildren, ranging in age from 16 down to 5, including two sets of twins. Working for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as a secretary was a satisfying job held. The DAV counsels and advocates for veterans regarding government benefits. Working for the Good Samaritan Society, an assisted living/nursing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, was another. Donna gets excited about; being in nature, seeing the garden come to life in the spring, watching the amazing transformation of Monarch caterpillars into butterflies, playing board games with hubby, keeping up with grandchildren’s activities, watching Colorado Rockies baseball, and quilting. She’s a member of the Vereins Quilt Guild and loves quilts of every kind from the very basic to the more artistic. She believes there is love sewn into each one, which is why she is delighted to be able to help with Lutheran World Relief quilts. Don and Donna moved to Fredericksburg two years ago from Fort Collins, Colorado where they spent the past 30 years and love it here!
