Ministers & Pastors

Pastor Bobby Vitek contributes to the ministry team as being the lead pastor. He has been a pastor for 34 years and 25 of those have been served at HGLC. He values intentionality and purposefulness in his day as well as the ministry direction of the church. He believes that if church is boring, it is a sin; thus creative paths to express faith is always a part of the plan! Experimentation for the sake of expanding the gospel of Jesus is an important axiom.

Pastor Bobby is married to Tammy, a retired public school teacher who nannies the grandchildren. They have two married adult children: Katy Kornegay, married to Geoff; and Andy Vitek, married to Alex. Both sets of children are highly involved faith leaders in their respective churches, and impacts their respective work contexts in amazing ways. They celebrate three wonderful grandchildren: Graham Wilder Kornegay, and twins, Emma Sawyer and Ellie Grace Vitek.

This Reverend enjoys making homemade wine, jellies, and does most of the cooking at home. Spring turkey hunting for him is not a passion, but an obsession; however grandparenthood is currently a higher priority than chasing birds! He roots for the Aggies, Cowboys, and Spurs! His current favorite Bible verse is, “I came that you may have life and have it abundantly!” (Jesus in John 10:10b)

Pastor David is married to his lovely wife Joyce.  They have four adult children, and two grandchildren.  David has been in the ministry for 30+ years, and at Holy Ghost since 2001.  His passion is being able to serve the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to serve others, and try and make a connection between the two.  He loves studying and teaching the Bible and sharing the Good News of the Gospel so that it might make a difference in people’s lives.  He loves spending time with his family and friends and dabbles with technology, crafts, and music.  He loves the outdoors when it’s not allergy season, enjoying fresh vegetables, fruit, and flowers.

Clint Pluenneke

Clint loves the ministry and loves serving the Lord at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church! He’s a sixth generation Texan with roots in Mason County where his family first settled in the 1800s. Clint’s favorite hobbies are hunting turkeys in the Spring, watching High School sports, making highlight videos for FHS teams, and playing guitar. Clint graduated from the University of Texas in 1993 with a B.A. in Psychology. Following his undergraduate work, he attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1998. Prior to coming to Holy Ghost, he served Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX, for six years as an associate pastor specializing in youth and family ministry. He has served Holy Ghost since February of 2005, and then beginning in January of 2016, he began a shared ministry partnership with our sister congregation, St Paul Lutheran Church of Cave Creek, working as their part-time pastor while also continuing to do youth ministry at Holy Ghost part- time. Clint is thankful for this partnership in the Gospel and considers it a great joy to be a part of a family of faith where “being and making disciples” is the name of the game!

Daniel Hofmann

Minister of Children and Young Families

Daniel first felt God’s pull toward ministry while working at Camp Chrysalis during college, and he loves returning there every summer with the HGLC kids. If you ever get the chance to go, he’d relish the chance to show you around one of his most special places!

Daniel and his wife Katie have been married since 2019, and they live across the street from the church with their daughter Elizabeth, born 2021. They enjoy taking strolls along Main Street, sitting on the porch, and singing show tunes to anyone who will listen.
If you ever catch one of Daniel’s children’s messages, you might just hear him reference some of his favorite things: classic Disney, Legos, coffee, and God’s unending Grace!
