Ministers & Pastors

Bobby Vitek

Pastor Bobby Vitek contributes to the ministry team as being the lead pastor. He has served HGLC for 23 years and been a pastor for 32 years.  His vision is for the church to fly—for it to be the best it can be for the glory of God! He believes that if church is boring, it is a sin! Thus creative ways to express faith is always a part of the plan!

Pastor Bobby is married to Tammy, a retired teacher after 29 years. They have two adult children who are both married: Katy Kornegay, married to Geoff; and Andy Vitek, married to Alex. Both sets of children are highly involved faith leaders in their respective churches.  They celebrated the birth of a grandson in 2020: Graham Wilder Kornegay.

This Reverend enjoys making homemade wine, jellies, and does most of the home cooking. Spring turkey hunting for him is not a passion, but an obsession! He roots for Aggies, Cowboys, and Spurs! His current favorite Bible verse is, “I came that you may have life and have it abundantly!” (Jesus in John 10:10b)

David Priem

Pastor David is married to Joyce.  They have four adult children, and one grandchild.  David has been in the ministry for 30+ years, serving congregations in Westhoff, Lindenau, LaVernia, and has been at Holy Ghost since 2001.  He loves Jesus as Lord and Savior, and loves people, and loves studying the Bible. His greatest desire is to help build relationships between people and God.  He loves hunting, reading good books, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling grandchildren.

Clint Pluenneke

Pastor of Youth and Family

Clint loves the ministry and loves serving the Lord at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church! He’s a sixth generation Texan with roots in Mason County where his family first settled in the 1800s. Clint is married to his High School (class of 1990) sweetheart, Anne, who practices medicine in Fredericksburg as an Ophthalmologist. Clint and Anne have three kids- Jake, Molly, and Clara- and have fun juggling the busy schedule of a family of five. Clint’s favorite hobbies are flying his drone, hunting turkeys in the Spring, watching High School sports, making highlight videos for FHS teams, playing guitar and going to the movies. Clint graduated from the University of Texas in 1993 with a B.A. in Psychology.
Following his undergraduate work, he attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1998. Prior to coming to Holy Ghost, he served Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX, for six years as an associate pastor specializing in youth and family ministry. He has served Holy Ghost full-time since February of 2005, and then beginning in January of 2016, he began a shared ministry partnership with our sister congregation, St Paul Lutheran Church of Cave Creek, working as their part-time pastor while also continuing to do youth ministry at Holy Ghost part-time.   Clint is thankful for this partnership in the Gospel and considers it a great joy to be a part of a family of faith where “being and making disciples” is the name of the game!

Daniel Hofmann

Minister of Children and Young Families

Daniel Hofmann has been at Holy Ghost since January 2014 and he can’t believe how blessed he is to live and work among such a wonderful Body of Christ! He came to Fredericksburg from Longview, TX, where he served for four years as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at First Lutheran Church. Here at Holy Ghost, he is our Minister of Children and Young Families, so he gets to spend his time getting to know the younger crowd at church- which works out, since he’s nothing but a 6-foot-4 kiddo himself!
Daniel graduated from Texas Lutheran University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, with a specialization in Youth Ministry. He spent his college summers working at Cross Trails Ministry in Kerrville, where he served as a camp counselor, day camp director, and program intern. Camp is where Daniel felt God guide him to his calling of working with kids, and it’s his favorite place in the world. If you ever get the chance to go, he’d love to share it with you!
Daniel’s parents are Paul and Barbara Hofmann, who currently reside in Bellaire, TX, where Paul serves as City Manager. Both of them are very involved in their congregation at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Daniel also has two younger brothers: Michael, a seminary student who lives in St. Louis, MO with his wife Stacy, and Timothy, a 2015 graduate of Texas A&M who lives and works in Kerrville.
Daniel shares his home across from the church with his Shiba-Inu pup Remus, who has become the unofficial watchdog of San Antonio Street.

Rick McMinn

Pastor of Life Care Ministry

I was born in Abilene, Texas in a farming family. The youngest of three, my world revolved around school sports, church and farm chores. I graduated with a bachelors and a masters from Hardin Simmons university and the entered into a years residency for hospital chaplaincy.

We moved to the Hill country and I worked in San Antonio. We live on a farm in Comfort and our four children are grown. There are three grandchildren and one in the way. After spending thirty-four years in various hospital positions, I have recently returned to Fredericksburg to follow my lifelong vocation to bring comfort and healing to the broken-hearted.

Blake Neffendorf

Office Assistant

I was born and raised a beach baby in Norfolk, Virginia. I fell in love with Texas after visiting family off and on during my childhood. I decided in 2002 to pack up my belongings and head off on new adventures with one goal in mind….to become a TEXAN! I married my husband, Spencer in 2008 and we have two children, Dalton and Savannah. Our family also consists of 2 dogs (Saki Bernice & Delta Dawn), 2 parakeets (Hazel & Kiwi), a flock of chickens, 2 ducks (George & Charlie), and a super sassy kitty (Frida Pearl).  We believe, that if you’re not using the “baby voice” to speak to your animals, they probably don’t understand you.

My hobbies include photography, travel, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I also love to cook, essential oils, TJMAXX, the color yellow, and performing concerts in the car to my favorite music!

I believe our relationships define us, are how we learn & grow, and are how we minister to each other. I believe that these are the blessings of belonging and I am so blessed to belong to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Thank you Jesus for an amazing church family!
